Passion

Photography isn't just about pressing the shutter button; it is so much more than that. It is a way to preserve beautiful and special moments, allowing us to look back on them and re-live those emotions. Whether it be a wedding day, a maternity session, or just an ordinary moment in life — a good photograph should capture not only the visuals but also the emotion of that moment. As they say, a picture paints a thousand words!

I believe that photography should be an enjoyable experience, and one that you can look back on with fond memories and nostalgia. Every photo I take is carefully composed and frames the subject in the best possible light to create something timeless.

Before the day

Engagement Session

Engagement sessions are a great way for newly engaged couples to share the big news with families and friends. They also give us an opportunity to get to know each other before your big day arrives. Think of your engagement session as a fun day with your other half, with beautiful images you can treasure forever as the result.

I keep these sessions laid-back, fun and easy-going while you get comfortable with the camera. Sessions typically last 1.5 to 3 hours across one or multiple locations. I recommend 1–3 outfit changes so I can really capture your personality and love story, and I always recommend professional hair and make-up — it enhances the beauty in every photo.

Posing for photos can feel daunting and awkward, but rest assured you don't need to think about how you should look or where to place your hands. I guide you throughout the session, so by the end you'll feel comfortable in front of the camera and pose more naturally for your wedding day. The key is simply to have fun and enjoy the time with your partner. We can take as many photos as needed, in different angles and locations, until we get the perfect shot. Come with an open mind — I promise it will be fun and your photos will look amazing.

Preparation

What to Wear & What to Bring

When it comes to clothing for your photoshoot, pick out looks that reflect who you are and capture the essence of the location. For most shoots, a combination of formal and casual attire works best. An assortment of wardrobe choices lets you express yourself while fitting the atmosphere of the shoot. I recommend no more than three different outfits so we make the most of our time together — but if you'd like to bring more, that's totally fine, just keep in mind it may affect our shooting time.

Bring

1–3 outfits, comfortable shoes, touch-up make-up, water and snacks.

Avoid

Loud logos, busy patterns and anything you'll keep adjusting all day.

Consider

Textures, soft neutrals and one statement piece that feels like you.

Santorini, Greece

It's a Love Story

Makki and Yonathin had the most extraordinary Ethiopian wedding in all of Santorini, Greece. It was an amazing opportunity to witness such a unique culture first hand. Makki, a makeup artist herself, made sure every detail of the event was taken care of with precision and care. In the weeks leading up to the wedding we kept in constant contact to make sure everything was perfect. Despite the odds against them, the couple pulled off a magnificent event that will never be forgotten. The pictures we captured are evidence of the joy and love between them — a joy you can feel through the images. It was such an honor to share in their special day.

What to Expect

We first meet to discuss your wedding plans — over a nice cup of coffee in person, by phone, email or video call. During this meeting we go over all the details, ideas and concerns you may have. Below is the timeline of the process from beginning to end. Most importantly, you can expect nothing less than superior service from Stanlo Photography.

    I email you a questionnaire for more detailed information about you as a couple. This helps me understand your love story and make your session unique.

    Checking the plans

    I contact your wedding coordinator to ensure your photo session is included in the wedding schedule. I want your day to go smoothly, with the focus on the two of you.

  3. 03 — One week before

    Finalizing finances

    Full payment for the photography services is due one week prior to your wedding day.

  4. 04 — Final days

    It's almost time

    I contact you to go over the session details one last time and make any last-minute changes.

  5. 05 — The big day

Standard Wedding Albums

Some of the most popular albums I offer are flush mount albums — the pages are printed on true photographic media and mounted to a thicker substrate, then trimmed so the photograph runs flush to the edge. The photographic quality is exceptional, and pages lay flat with no gutter so one image flows straight into the next. Standard albums are available in leather, hard cover and crystal covers, with 6x6 parent versions of the original album. These are included in the Gold and Platinum wedding collections.
